Summary: The brief life of a snowman.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Title: My Death.
- A winter's day you made me
- A winter's day I died.
- When your mother called you,
- You went inside.
- When I tried to follow you,
- Nowhere did I get.
- I thought I was like you,
- But in the pond's reflection,
- I only saw a pile of snow built to perfection.
- I hear the lonely wind whispering a sad song in my ear.
- The moon shines brightly.
- It is mocking me.
- I see you playing with toys,
- Ignoring me.
- My purpose has gone.
- I see an owl,
- His eyes remind me of the sun,
- The death of me, I sit in your garden awaiting my death.
- As the sun rises,
- The ground is a mouth, swallowing me whole.
- The children come out,
- But not to mourn for me,
- Just to play around.
- They don't care about me anymore.
- The brief life of a snowman. I wrote this when I was 10
and it has always been my favourite. We had to write a piece on 'Winter' at
school and I wanted to be different and not include Father Christmas
and presents.
